Greatest Strength

You know how sometimes your greatest strength is also sometimes your greatest weakness?

Like, people who are really great at being organized sometimes can’t just let go and go with the flow?

One of my great strengths is that I am a communicator.

The correlating weakness:

I have a big fucking mouth.

I don’t mean to.  I just can’t seem to STFU.

Anyone ever tackled this before?  Any ideas on how to fix it?

  1. well, i just read your blog for the 1st time today and thought i would give it a whirl…..not that i am a professional. ha ha i hardly blog on my own site. anywhoo, i have 2 sisters, one who has a blog on here also and one who detests blogs. the reason being is she thinks why would anyone write their feelings, thoughts, or opinions down for others (complete strangers) to come and read and then comment on about it. well, it started out where she found my sisters blog, and she was talking about her. lol anyway….where was i going with this? if you feel like you dont know when to shut up, i always try, though it doesnt always work for me, to go with the old saying, "if you cant say something nice about someone, dont say anything." now if you look at my blog, most of them are kind of plain, just pics of my kids and grand kids. nothing fancy. im not a big political or religeous commenter. you wont see that on my blog. but whatever floats your boat, i think, is good. i read quite a few blogs and comment on few, but say very little. i try not to piss anyone off, thats just me. now i do have another sister who speaks her mind and who will on here. we are like night and day. if i say up, she will say down. yup….just to be different. well, before i planned to write this BOOK…..lol, i was meaning just to point out that this is your page, it is your place to say what you want. and the topics of course, are yours. so, with all that being said, speak your mind, but do so as if "someone" were watching, and you will do fine!!!!

  2. Oooo….that's a tough one. As someone who has gotten used to the taste of my foot in my mouth, I don't really have any sage words of wisdom for you. All I can offer is my support and understanding. And, whoever is mad right now will get over it. If they are a true friend, they will find it in their heart to forgive you. If not, who the fuck needs 'em, anyway!?

  3. you're right — I do TRY to be kind, and I am not one of those people who says something and then denys it. If someone heard it, I probably said it. But I do get taken out of context a lot. That's the problem lately. It seems I can't go 2 days without someone saying "Well, so & so heard you say . . .".

Thanks for commenting! I'm gonna check your blog out!

  4. I wish I could offer some advice, but (and you may be shocked!) I have a big mouth, too. I temper it down quite a bit if I think what I'm going to say will hurt someone. Sometimes I don't always succeed, though. When I was a kid, this usually resulted in my becoming at one with the pavement. As an adult, not so much. But, still…I never want to offend someone. I trying counting to ten before I speak, but I was never very good at Math.
